The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally complained to the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the “inappropriate conduct” of the fans during the high-voltage clash against India in Ahmedabad. The Board has also highlighted visas not being issued to its journalists and fans.
“Pakistan Cricket Board has lodged another formal protest with ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023,” the PCB said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The PCB has also filed a complaint in respect of inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14th October 2023.”
The Telegraph had reported on Monday that the PCB was planning such a move against crowd conduct once its chief Zaka Ashraf returned to Lahore from Ahmedabad.
While captain Babar Azam was subjected to toxic remarks during the toss, Mohammad Rizwan faced trolling on his way back to the pavilion after his dismissal.
Team director Mickey Arthur had said it “didn’t seem like an ICC event” in the absence of Pakistani fans.
