Virat Kohli would love to lend some form and luck from Gujarat Titans.

Kohli’s wretched run with the bat has been worrisome for not only his IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but also for all cricket enthusiasts in general. The Titans on the other hand have been on a dream run in IPL 2022, winning seven of their eight games so far. While there is no doubt they have played well, it is also a fact that they have pulled off a few wins which could have easily ended in defeats.

On paper, the Titans are outright favourites for Saturday’s game against RCB in Mumbai. The Faf du Plessis-led RCB have slipped into an uncomfortable zone with back-to-back defeats in their last two games. What’s even more worrying is their batting frailty. Despite having the luxury of big names like Du Plessis, Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, RCB were bowled out for embarrassing totals of 68 and 115 in their last two losses.

Not only Kohli, who averages an unthinkable 18.28 from nine games, Du Plessis too hasn’t been getting runs and that has hurt his team badly. RCB’s top four has fared very poorly so far and will face a torrid test against a strong Titans bowling attack on Saturday. The likes of Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson and Rashid Khan will surely not offer any freebies to the Kohlis.

The Titans have had multiple match-winners in their campaign so far. Someone or the other has waved the magic wand for them in all their wins and so they have not depended heavily on any one or two players.

But they do have a concern or two. Captain Hardik Pandya has stayed away from bowling in the last few matches, raising questions about his overall fitness. Also Shubman Gill’s bat has gone dry after a few good knocks at the start.
