■ Jasprit Bumrah claimed his ninth five-wicket Test haul on Thursday. It was his 8th such haul outside India. His only fifer in India was the 5/24 against Sri Lanka in
Bangalore, 2022.

■ It was also Bumrah’s third six-wicket haul of his career: 6/27 — vs WI
(Kingston, 2019) 6/33 — vs Aus (MCG, 2018) 6/61 — vs SA (Cape Town, 2024)

■ Bumrah now has 18 Test wickets in Cape Town from 3 Tests. Only Englishman Colin Blythe has more wickets (25) than Bumrah in four Tests. Bumrah, in this Test, went ahead of Shane Warne, who had 17 wickets from 3 Tests in Cape Town.

■ Rohit Sharma became the second Indian captain to draw a Test series in South
Africa after MS Dhoni in the 2010-11 series.

■ Rohit is the first Asian captain to win a Test match in Cape Town.

■ Cape Town is now the third venue — after Bangalore (vs Afg, June 14-15, 2018) and Ahmedabad (vs Eng, Feb. 24-25, 2021) — where India have won a Test within two days.

■ Aiden Markram’s 106 was 60.8% of the team’s total of 176, the highest by a South African in a completed Test innings. The previous highest was 59.89%, by Herbie Taylor (109 out of a total of 182) against England in Durban in Dec. 1913.
