After the first few matches of IPL 2023, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians were all in the same boat, struggling to win matches. But while Delhi are yet to log even a point, Sunrisers and Mumbai have turned around their campaign with both winning their last two games.
On Tuesday in Hyderabad, Sunrisers and Mumbai will lock horns in search of a hat-trick of victories. Both the teams looked confident in their respective last wins, which incidentally came against the same opponent, the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Who has the edge? It is difficult to predict, but Aiden Markram’s Sunrisers, playing at home, might have their nose ahead.
It was Englishman Harry Brook, used as an opener, who drove the Sunrisers against the Knights with an attacking century. If he is in a similar mood on Tuesday, Mumbai will find it hard to get their third win in a row.

To stop Brook, Mumbai could have used his compatriot Jofra Archer. But there’s no clarity on the fitness of the speedster, who is nursing an elbow injury. Mumbai’s spin attack, however, has stood out with Piyush Chawla and Hrithik Shokeen handling the responsibility well.
Mumbai’s batting benefitted from the onslaught of Ishan Kishan and the return to form of Suryakumar Yadav. With captain Rohit Sharma also looking to be in decent touch and the talented Tilak Varma showing consistency, Mumbai will back themselves to get the better of the Sunrisers attack.
The home team, however, has enough variety to trouble Mumbai’s strong batting line-up. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s experience, Umran Malik’s pace, T. Natarajan’s accuracy and Marco Jansen’s wicket-taking knack, the Hyderabad team looks to be a good bowling unit.
The match can also turn out to be a clash of twins, Mumbai’s Marco and Sunrisers’ Duan Jansen.
