It would have been unusual if there wasn’t any response from Shah Rukh Khan, particularly after the Kolkata Knight Riders’ miraculous three-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Sunday, courtesy Rinku Singh’s final-over brilliance.
Soon after the game, the Knight Riders principal owner took to Twitter to lavish praise on Rinku, Venkatesh Iyer and captain Nitish Rana.
“JHOOME JO RINKUUUUU!!! My baby @rinkusingh235 And @NitishRana_27& @venkateshiyer you beauties!!! And remember Believe that’s all.
“Congratulations @KKRiders and @VenkyMysore take care of your heart sir!” Shah Rukh tweeted.
For Rinku, it was all about trusting his belief and not reading too much into the situation.
“I had the belief. Ranabhai said to keep belief and to bat till the end, then we would see what happened,” the Man of the Match said.
“I was just trying to hit sixes. I was not thinking a lot, I was just reacting to the ball.
“ And it kept coming out of the middle of the bat,” he went on to add.
