Some of the biggest names in cricket and broadcasting will make up a robust commentary panel for the T20 World Cup, beginning next month, as announced by the ICC on Friday.
Leading the team will be stalwarts Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, Mel Jones, Harsha Bhogle and Ian Bishop.
Dinesh Karthik, who retired from all forms of cricket after his team Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL campaign, has also been named one of the commentators for the tournament, to be co-hosted by the US and the West Indies from June 2-29.
The legendary Sunil Gavaskar, apart from other 50-over World Cup winners Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Ramiz Raja, Eoin Morgan, Tom Moody and Wasim Akram will lend their expert analysis.
Making his World Cup debut will be American commentator James O’Brien, better known as Jomboy, who will aim to add context to the games for the American audience.
Other big names in the team include Dale Steyn, Michael Atherton and Shaun Pollock among others, while adding to the insights will be Ebony Rainford-Brent, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, Aaron Finch and Lisa Sthalekar.
