Sunrisers Hyderabad are still basking in the glory of their record 277 at home against Mumbai Indians. However, it’s been time to pack their bags and move to Ahmedabad for their next match against Gujarat Titans on Sunday afternoon.
The Pat Cummins-led team may have to adjust their strategy against the Titans, depending on the wicket on offer. The Titans too will be hoping to return to winning ways in their home comfort after the humiliation in Chennai.
How their new and young captain Shubman Gill lives up to the challenge will be interesting since he hasn’t yet found his form in this edition.
There’s some good news with Australian Matthew Wade joining the team and being available for selection after having missed the first couple of games because
of the Sheffield Shield final at home.
It will be interesting to see how Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen tackle premier wrist spinner Rashid Khan. Travis Head has his own love story with Ahmedabad since the ODI World Cup final and can’t be dismissed either.
It will be a huge test for the Titans bowlers and their ability to put a leash on the rampaging Sunrisers batters.
Sunrisers’ T. Natarajan missed the last game due to a niggle but it would be tough to drop Jaydev Unadkat, who bowled exceedingly well against Mumbai Indians in the death overs.
One option would be to replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar with Natarajan but the veteran pacer has an inspiring record against Gill having dismissed the Titans captain thrice. Bhuvi is yet to take a wicket in his two outings and has conceded 104 in eight overs.
Barring Cummins, the Sunrisers pacers have gone at 11.93 runs per over.
