The buzz is missing but Rahul Dravid is hoping that once India's campaign in the T20 World Cup starts, the familiar frenzy associated with an ICC tournament will return.

"Feels slightly different... Typically the buzz that you have around these events... you don't kind of feel that kind of buzz over here. But hopefully once our games start and a lot of the Indian fans do start coming in, you start seeing that similar kind of excitement," Dravid said during a news conference on Monday, ahead of India's first game against Ireland in New York.

"So things are certainly different from that perspective. But yeah, I think from a preparation perspective and from what we want to get out of it, I don't think that's changed... our preparation, our professionalism, the way we are trying to approach things. It's pretty similar to what we would normally do.

"Yeah, it's a bit strange to be practicing in a park... Obviously at World Cups you'd be in big stadiums... But we're at a public park and practicing. So it's great fun. It's different but it's something new, and yeah, it's exciting.

Dravid confirmed it will be last assignment as head coach.

"It is going to be the last one that I am in-charge of," he said. "Yeah, just considering, unfortunately, the kind of schedules and where I find myself at this stage in my life, I don't think I'll be able to re-apply. So yeah, obviously it'll be my last one. But having said that, it's no different for me.

"I love doing the job. I've really enjoyed coaching India and I think it's a truly special job to do."
