Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a century off 49 balls to lead India to the semi-finals in the Asian Games on Tuesday. They defeated Nepal by 23 runs as Jaiswal became the youngest Indian to smash a T20I century.
In reply to India’s 202/4, Nepal managed 179/9. Besides Jaiswal, Rinku Singh made 37 not out off 15 balls. The bowling though lacked discipline as Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan gave away 75 runs.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad wasn’t happy with their performance.
“Nepal are an international side... They have scored around 250 runs against India, the main side, as well. So not really surprised with how they came (at us).”
Brief scores: India 202/4 (Yashasvi Jaiswal 100, Rinku Singh 37 n.o.). Nepal 179/9 (D. Airee 32, Avesh Khan 3/32, Ravi Bishnoi 3/24). India won by 23 runs.
