Ishan Kishan, who had requested for a break citing personal reasons, can return to Team India only after after playing “some cricket”. The message to the left-handed keeper-batter was clear enough from head coach Rahul Dravid.

“The point was, he had requested a break, and we were happy to give it to him. I didn’t say he has to play domestic cricket. I had said whenever he is ready, he needs to play some cricket and come back.

“The choice is his. We’re not forcing him to do anything. We’re in touch with him, not that we haven’t been in touch.

“He has not yet started playing. So, at the moment, itis not something we can consider, because maybe he’s not ready. He decides when he wants to be ready,” Dravid said.
