Delhi Capitals will be playing for a playoffs spot when they clash with Mumbai Indians on Saturday, the outcome of which would also determine the fate of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
A win will take Delhi to 16 points, the same as RCB, but Rishabh Pant’s team has a much better net run rate and will, therefore, qualify.
RCB and their fans will obviously be rooting for a Mumbai win and despite suffering a nightmarish campaign, Rohit Sharma’s men are actually capable of surprising Delhi. They have played well in their last few games.
Delhi will hope Mitchell Marsh continues his form with the bat even as David Warner remains their best bet. But it’s also time for Pant to bring out an impact-making performance from his bag. The skipper has been very ordinary by his explosive standards.
For Mumbai, Rohit and Ishan Kishan seem to have regained touch, while Tim David has had a giant presence in the middle order.
