A team comprising top officials of the IPL governing council reached Dubai on Sunday afternoon to conduct a recce of the venues and training facilities along with other administrative and technical aspects for the 13th edition of the tournament.
That such a recce will be conducted ahead of the tournament was reported by The Telegraph on August 11.
The recce party includes governing council chairman Brijesh Patel and a large contingent of the International Marketing Group, the event managers. Hemang Amin, BCCI’s interim chief executive and IPL’s chief operating officer, is expected to join them on Monday.
According to the SOPs, they too will remain in quarantine for the first six days after their arrival in Dubai.
Sources said that the IPL’s fixtures would be announced later this week.
Meanwhile, all Indian players and support staff of Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad arrived in the UAE on Sunday on chartered flights from Mumbai.
