Twenty20 cricket often throws up bizarre statistics. One such was recorded on Sunday when the team of Isle of Man were all out for 10 in an international match against Spain.

That’s the lowest T20 total ever, the previous lowest being Sydney Thunder’s 15 against Adelaide Strikers in December 2022 in the Big Bash League. In international cricket, the unwanted record was held by Turkey, who were all out for 15 against the Czech Republic in 2019.

The match, played in the port city of Cartegena in the Murica region of southeast Spain, was the last of a sixmatch bilateral series, which Spain won 5-0.

Spain’s new-ball pair of Mohammad Kamran and Atif Mehmood, both left-arm medium pacers, two four wickets each, with leg-spinner Lorne Burns claiming the remaining two as Isle of Man were bundled out in 8.4 overs. Six Isle of Man players were out for ducks.

And how long did Spain take to overhaul the target? Just two balls.

Besides the lowest total, the match also recorded the fastest run rate — 39 — in a completed chase and the biggest margin of victory by balls remaining — 118.
