Virat Kohli, who had returned to Mumbai from Guwahati for personal reasons, would have missed Tuesday’s warm-up had it been played. It was learnt that Kohli will join the side in Chennai on Wednesday.
The Netherlands’ first practice match against Australia was also affected by rain and was called off after the Netherlands had bowled 23 overs and batted for 14.2 overs.
In Hyderabad, Babar Azam’s 90 wasn’t enough for Pakistan as they lost by 14 runs to Australia. Afghanistan defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets via the DLS method in Guwahati.
