Whales, Eagles and Lions were the teams that won their respective ABP Annual Cricket 2022-23 matches at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

All three games were 10-overs-a-side contests.

The proceedings began with the Eagles versus Hawks game. Opting to bowl, the Eagles limited the Hawks to 48/6 and then took 6.5 overs to overhaul the total and win by 10 wickets.

For the Eagles, Subhankar Das (3/5 off two overs) — also the Player of the Match — and Indrajit Samaddar (2/6 off two overs) were the chief wicket-takers.

With the bat, captain Sunando Ghosh top-scored for the Eagles with a 17-ball 20.

In the next match between Whales and Sharks, the former won by two runs.

Put into bat, Whales posted 43/1. Thereafter, they restricted Sharks to 41/1.

Piyali Ghosh of Whales was adjudged Player of the Match for her 19 off 25 balls. Among Whales bowlers, Sanjita Mahalanobis took the only Sharks wicket to fall.

Lions captain Indrajit Sengupta was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 35 off 37 balls as his team beat the Tigers by 12 runs.

In response to the Lions’ 81/1, the Tigers could manage 69/3.
