Table tennis in the city could return to action from the first week of June though paddlers are already practising at Naihati Youth Association since May 22.

“We are planning to start from June 2 following all the government guidelines. Initially paddlers below seven years will not be allowed,” Shyama Sangha table tennis academy coach and administrator Debasish Chakraborty said on Wednesday.

Coach Mihir Ghosh, who trained the likes of Suthirta Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee, said only 20 paddlers are practising in each session in Naihati.

Golf is also expected to resume. “The Royal is likely to reopen doors on June 2. If that happens, I will restart teeing off and putting from that day itself,” SSP Chowrasia said.
