Anirban Lahiri, one of the most successful golfers from India, is set to participate in the SSP Chawrasia Invitational golf meet at the RCGC beginning on Wednesday.
Lahiri last played in the Indonesian Masters in Jakarta, which concluded earlier this month. He finished overall second on the leaderboard there.
In the city and at the RCGC though, it’s after a long time that Lahiri will be taking part in a competition.
“Anirban will be playing in the Pro Am of this tournament as well (on Tuesday),” a source in the PGTI (Professional Golf Tour of India) said.
“The last time he played at the RCGC could be one of the editions of the McLeod Russel Tour Championship.”
Along with other Indian golfers, the invitational meet will also be having overseas players like Sri Lankans Anura Rohana, Mithun Perera and N. Thangaraja.
