Adelaide will host the opening Test of the four-match series against Australia from December 17 and it will be a Day-Night affair.
Cricket Australia (CA) is keen to host the traditional Boxing Day Test, which will be the second of the series, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground itself. However, in case the pandemic situation doesn’t allow it be to be held there, Adelaide has been kept as standby venue. This will be followed by Tests in Sydney (January 7-11) and Brisbane (January 15-19).
On Thursday, the New South Wales government agreed on CA’s quarantine proposal.
The Indians will be able to train while quarantining in Sydney, although at this stage it is unclear what size of groups will be permitted.
The first two ODIs are now scheduled in Sydney on November 27 and 29 while Canberra will host the third ODI and the first match of the T20I series. The teams will head back to Sydney for the last two T20Is on December 6 and 8.
