Lili Das of Bengal won gold in the women’s 1500 metres race at the athletics competitions of the 37th National Games in Bambolim on Monday. Fellow international KM Chanda of Delhi came second.
Asian Games medallist Jyoti Yarraji and Tejas Shirse broke games records on
their way to winning gold medals in women’s 100 metres and men’s 110 metres hurdles respectively.
Jyoti improved on her own mark, finishing in 13.22 seconds, while Tejas, who had rewritten the games record in the heats to 13.80 sec held in the morning, improved his timing by finishing in 13.71 sec in the final. Tejaswin Shankar of Delhi is ahead in decathlon with 4062 points.
In table tennis, Bengal men lost to Delhi to finish second.
