With a smaller design, what are some of the things you had to redesign to accommodate a full-frame sensor?

The Alpha 7C is fashioned to be compact, lightweight and portable without compromising genuine full-frame camera performance. This goal was accomplished by developing new mechanical components, such as a space-saving shutter and optical stabilisation unit, along with layout and structural enhancements.

What kind of improvement has been made to AF tracking and real-time eye AF?

Alpha 7C has Sony’s smart AI-based Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF. Reliable subject tracking translates into more successful portraits. As with previous models, you were able to aim at the subject and half-press the preconfigured shutter button to start Real-time Eye AF. The Alpha 7C also has a new feature that lets you press the AF-ON button to activate Real-time Tracking even when not in AF-C mode, allowing you to use Real-time Tracking immediately. Focus is maintained even when the face is partially obstructed or when the subject is wearing glasses.

Who would you recommend the camera for?

Alpha 7C is perfectly suited for all types of content creators. The camera is specially designed for movie making, with the MOVIE button being moved to the top panel to improve access when shooting from different angles. The side opening LCD, external mic and headphone jack helps you customise your movie shooting process. The camera being so compact while incorporating high-resolution 4K movies and a wealth of expression-expanding movie functions, we believe it is going to be a first choice for all types of vloggers, especially travel.
