Samsung Electronics had an excellent run this year with new phone launches as well as television sets, projectors and refrigerators, besides bringing new tech chops on the software front. The company has been recognised by Interbrand, a global brand consultancy, as a Global Top 5 brand for the fourth year in a row. On Best Global Brands list, it was revealed that Samsung’s brand value reached $91.4 billion and grew by four per cent year-on-year. The other brands in the top five are Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and Google.
According to Interbrand, Samsung Electronics’ evaluation was positively influenced by consistent company-wide improvement of the customer experience based on the ‘One Samsung’ strategy, increased level of connectivity and enhanced gaming experiences through its product portfolio and SmartThings, future innovative technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence (AI), automotive, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) and consistent actions to strengthen ESG leadership through eco-conscious activities.
In its smartphone segment, the Galaxy S23 series has been a big hit, especially the progress that has been made on the Nightography front. Foldable phones — Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 — too found plenty of takers. On the TV front, progress has been made with Neo QLED 8K and Micro LED.
