The Spotify app for the Apple Watch has been updated to offer improvements to usability and offline playback, besides better visuals involving bigger album art and new animations.
“You’ll be able to more easily browse and choose your favourite music and podcasts in Your Library, as well as more quickly download music to listen offline from the watch itself. There’s also a new sleek design with larger artwork, animations, and added functionality-like swiping to like a song,” Spotify has said in a blog.
Before the update, Spotify’s Apple Watch features were simple, like the Your Library view was a text-only list of titles. There’s now dazzling UI and update adds a screen with two buttons for downloading and shuffling your music.
The streaming service had added offline playback in an update from May of last year, but it required you to use your iPhone to choose offline music. Now you can download entire playlists and albums without bringing out the phone from your pocket. And improvement also arrives in the form of Apple Watch podcast playback, allowing you to pick up right where you left off.
