Elden Ring: This game’s take on open world design is paired with the trademark Soulslike design philosophy. While it does not have you building up a town, ER offers a much longer adventure marked by the same kind of exploration that constantly has you marvelling at beautiful sights while excitedly looking for the next dungeon to conquer. It focuses on presenting a very refined character building system that lets you choose the specifics of your character’s fighting style. On top of that, the game’s worldbuilding is extremely well done, making it feel like a living and breathing world.
