Samsung’s supersonic jump into the world of AI with its latest Galaxy S24 series has been impressive and showcases the future of smartphones — more software muscle to offer a meaningful experience. But why should people with the Galaxy S24 phones should have all the fun?
Starting March 28, One UI 6.1 will begin rolling out across the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5. Further, One UI 6.1 will also come to Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Wi-Fi versions beginning this week.
In a press note, Samsung said: “Galaxy AI puts our groundbreaking suite of AI tools in the palm of more users’ hands in different form factors — tailoring the mobile experience to their needs. Now, Samsung is bringing Galaxy AI features to even more users across the Galaxy ecosystem.”
In a recent conversation with TM Roh, president and head of MX business, Samsung Electronics, told us that the company intends to bring the “Galaxy AI to around 100 million units within the year” to provide more experiences and usability to consumers and to popularise AI. He said: “We will continue to popularise new technologies as soon as possible, just like we did with, for example, LTE and 5G technology and foldables phones.”
Once users update to Android 14-based OneUI 6.1, they can experience Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Live Translate, Generative Edit, Chat Assist, and more on select Samsung smartphones.
Circle to Search with Google is changing the way users search, helping it become the most widely used AI feature amongst Galaxy S24 users. It allows them to learn more about almost anything on their screens quickly with a simple gesture, without having to switch apps.
Earlier this year, it was specified that the Galaxy AI features will be available free of cost until 2025 on eligible smartphones.
