Dead Space 2: DS2 ramps up on the action but retains the dread that made its predecessor so memorable, with a story that targets a much larger scope. Like a good sequel, it recon textualises the first. While the gameplay feels dated compared to DS, it still holds up and presents its phenomenal story in the right ways.

SIGNALIS: This one takes a more philosophical approach to cosmic horror, and goes back to the isometric-fixed-camera era of the genre. Arguably, it’s much more scarier than DS, with its scares and the existential questions it throws at you while emphasising exploration.
