Oppo has launched ColorOS 13, the global version of its operating system. It will first arrive on the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro this month, followed by releases in additional models in the Find, Reno, A, F, and K ranges before the end of the year.

Based on Android 13, ColorOS 13 has an Aquamorphic design, which features a new theme palette inspired by the changing colour of light between sunrise and sunset at sea level, along with a new system font that improves readability of system text in any language.

The most interesting feature comes in the form of privacy and security protection. There is a pixelation feature which will help while taking screenshots for sharing. Called Auto Pixelate, it can automatically recognise and blur out profile photos and names in chat screenshots with one tap. You can also use the tool to manually blur out the contents of messages. The company has also announced the new Private Safe, which is encrypted with the widely-used Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to offer high levels of security.

Another significant update is the improved multi-device user experience, which allows up to three windows from a phone to be displayed on a connected Windows PC and that includes two background apps alongside one direct mirror of a phone’s display.

Also worth a mention is Meeting Assistant, which can automatically prioritise wireless data packages to offer a more stable connection during online calls. It also simplifies banner notifications to minimise distractions while allowing users to add an Oppo Notes shortcut that helps to take meeting notes in a small pop-up window.
