Pokemon Legends: Arceus
The game puts players in the Hisui region. It offers an introduction to open-world encounters and the visuals are quite good.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
The adorable pink glutton swallows a car and transforms into one. It’s a refreshing and hilarious game and easily one of the top choices for Switch.
Splatoon 3
The concept is intriguing — players return to the colourful world of paint-based warfare. It’s a first person shooter with a twist — you can shoot your opponents but to win the game you have to shoot the environment… with paint. It’s a great, slightly less violent entry point for kids.
Bayonetta 3
The titular character — chasing down a threat by securing a portal to the Alphaverse — comes across her interdimensional counterparts, all bearing the same taste for fashion as well as weaponry. She starts out with her four large-calibre handguns and then graduates to a wider range of weapons. The ending is controversial but it’s a very intuitive combat title.
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet
It’s a more conventional take on Pokemon and despite a few technical flaws, these are fun titles that will give you engaged for hours. Scarlet and Violet offer a fresh coat of paint to the series.
