OnePlus will start delivering on its 2024 plans with OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, starting January 23. The latter is particularly interesting as OnePlus says the device doesn’t need to have a “Plus”, “Pro” or “Ultra” moniker to offer a good experience, be it hardware or software. The 12R — coming in Cool Blue and Iron Grey — features a matte metal frame and comes with the Alert Slider.
The OnePlus R Series began rolling out with OnePlus 9R in 2021 and then came OnePlus 10R in 2022 and OnePlus 11R in 2023 and have previously only been available in India and China. Having won users with affordable pricing without compromising on experience, OnePlus R Series will also be available to customers in North America and Europe.
OnePlus 11R was among the top phones of 2023 because of its choice of processor — Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Combine this with the smooth UI. The phone doesn’t have unnecessary bloatware and comes with good 5G capabilities. Overall, it has turned out to be a reliable phone with many premium flagship features.
OnePlus, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, had a good run this year. As of October end, global sales of OnePlus devices have grown 59 per cent compared to the same period last year, and by as much as 40 per cent in India.
Also coming on January 23 is OnePlus 12, which promises to be “an all-round flagship phone”, featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform and fourth-gen Hasselblad camera for mobile with a new 64MP 3x periscope lens.
