Shazam, the popular music recognition service, has updated its iPhone and iPad app. Now, Apple’s music recognition feature can sync across devices with the same Apple ID. Apple’s Music Recognition feature in the iPhone Control Center is now able to sync with the latest version (15.14) of the Shazam app. According to MacRumors, many users thought that the feature required the iOS 16 developer beta; it is available for iPhones that have iOS 15 installed.
“Songs identified with Music Recognition in Control Centre now sync with the Shazam App for supported users. Never tried it? It’s a quick and easy way to identify music in other apps, and it even works with headphones. Get started by adding Music Recognition to Control Center from your Settings,” reads a message on the App Store regarding the 15.14 update.
Earlier, those who used music recognition couldn’t store their history without the Shazam app. Soon after announcing that Apple would acquire Shazam in 2017 (acquired in 2018), the iPhone maker introduced Music Recognition as a built-in iOS feature in 2020 with iOS 14.2. The feature allowed iPhone users to identify songs around them and in apps without downloading the Shazam app. In case you ask Siri or use the Music Recognition control to help find a song, you are able to store the data in the Shazam app if you have it downloaded.
Now you can keep track of songs identified with the Music Recognition across devices that are using the Apple ID.
