Profile pictures with a graphic-novel feel are doing the rounds and perhaps the software responsible for it is Prequel, which takes an existing photo and turns it into a cartoon but one with a snazzy feel.
How does it work?
Available on Android as well as App Store, Prequel has been around since 2020 but only now that we are hearing a lot about it. The ‘Aesthetic Editor’ comes with more than 800 filters/effects, numerous video templates, and supports things like GIFs and stickers.
After downloading the app, agree to the privacy policies which will take you to onboarding screens. You can make a purchase by paying a weekly subscription fee or just continue with the free mode. On the home screen you will be shown different filters. Before selecting a picture from your photo gallery, make sure that the face is clearly available for Prequel to apply a filter. Tap on a photo, wait for Prequel to apply the cartoon filter and while that’s happening don’t lock your phone. It takes only a few seconds for the app to prepare the output. You can even apply text or make color adjustments. Users can save the final output on their device or share a link with a shortcut to the filter, or instantly upload the photo on apps like Snapchat and Instagram.
