Much of last year was spent talking about AI-powered voice-clone tracks and Drake was in the middle of the conversation. His label, Universal Media Group, took action against AI and takedown requests removed the AI-generated track from streaming services. We are not done.

There is a new “track” and one wonders if it’s really Drake or AI. The diss track is called Push Ups and it targets Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin, among others. The track asks Metro Boomin to “shut your h* a** up and make some drums”.

The voice sounds like that of Drake but if you listen to it closely, there are some glitches. Drake being Drake, he made references to the track in his Instagram Stories, including posting an AI deepfake of rap producer Metro Boomin standing in for Nick Cannon in a clip from the 2002 film Drumline, but he hasn’t owned up to recording the track.

Clearly, AI continues to run wild and things are becoming difficult for music companies.
