Word games are always fun to play. For those who have spent a lot of time on the Daily Crossword or Scrabble, there is a new game in town and it’s called Word Link.

The core concept of Word Link is very simple. You will be given a fixed set of letters — somewhere between three to six — and you will have to make words with those letters. You are told the amount of words you can make and the number of letters of each word beforehand.

There is no time pressure so you can make these words at your leisure. The main draw of this game is that it is very easy to pick up and play but, at the same time, quite difficult to master.

You will never run out of levels as there are over a 1,000 levels for you to beat with correspondingly increasing difficulty. The best part is that nowhere will you feel that the game is being unfair or too difficult. In fact, it is welcoming to both the veterans of word games and beginners. There is also a cool feature where veterans will get additional points to guess all the words possible with the given set of letters. One can also go back to the previous level to improve score.

Word Link is the perfect game for players wanting to dabble in word games. To keep things fair, there is also a system of hints that will help you when you get stuck within a level.

  • Ruzzle: This is the game for you if you are bored of playing word games all by yourself. Challenge friends or random players to find as many words as possible in two minutes. Swipe over the scrambled letters to form the words and make good use of bonus tiles to score more than your opponent. The game is played in three rounds but you can play each round whenever it is convenient for you, there is no time frame that you have to follow.

  • Languinis: The Languinis created words for all the things that exist but it exhausted them and they chose to rest. They were locked up for this crime. You can free them with your word power. Every hint costs gems. You can earn gems by playing the levels or watching ads or simply buying them. In order to keep you going, there is a library of all the words that you have played in the game. There are over 10,000 words that can be unlocked through the game.

Apart from the main game, there are seven mini-games that get unlocked as you go on playing different levels. The first game gets unlocked at level 35 and is a simple game of finding words in an image. While it is simple, it provides much needed variety. There is also a Daily

Puzzle that is like the crossword puzzle but has the Word Link instead of hints.

VERDICT: Word Link is very easy to pick up and play. It might come across as too easy in the beginning for veterans of word games, however, it gets tougher with time. One thing missing though is a multiplayer option, which would definitely add to the fun. I think Word Link stands tall with its current features and has a lot to offer for those who stick to it. I would rate it eight out of 10.
