The Tragedy of Macbeth

Joel Coen’s take on William Shakespeare’s classic play has Denzel Washington’s character being convinced by a trio of witches that he will become the next King of Scotland, subsequently conspiring to seize power, with the help of his wife, Lady Macbeth (Frances McDormand). Besides Washington as Macbeth, it also features Bertie Carvel, Alex Hassell, Corey Hawkins, Harry Melling and Brendan Gleeson. Shot in black and white, the film is supposed to be gritty and the whole film was shot on a studio stage. Premiering in select theaters on December 25, the global premiere will take place on January 14 next year on Apple TV+.

Servant Season 3

M. Night Shyamalan is at it again. Servant follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home. Servant stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint. The series is created by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominated executive producer and writer Tony Basgallop. The new season is arriving on January 21.

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

The much-awaited reboot of the beloved classic series Fraggle Rock, titled Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock will debut on Apple TV+ on January 21. The new 13-episode series from The Jim Henson Company in association with New Regency follows last year’s celebrated Apple original shorts Fraggle Rock: Rock On! Join Gobo, Red, Wembley, Mokey, Boober, and new Fraggle friends on hilarious, epic adventures about the magic that happens when we celebrate and care for our interconnected world.

The Afterparty

Coming your way on January 28 is The Afterparty, a genre-defying series around a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each episode explores a different character’s account of the fateful evening in question, all through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective. The series features a stellar ensemble cast including Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou and Dave Franco.
