The Tragedy of Macbeth
Joel Coen’s take on William Shakespeare’s classic play has Denzel Washington’s character being convinced by a trio of witches that he will become the next King of Scotland, subsequently conspiring to seize power, with the help of his wife, Lady Macbeth (Frances McDormand). Besides Washington as Macbeth, it also features Bertie Carvel, Alex Hassell, Corey Hawkins, Harry Melling and Brendan Gleeson. Shot in black and white, the film is supposed to be gritty and the whole film was shot on a studio stage. Premiering in select theaters on December 25, the global premiere will take place on January 14 next year on Apple TV+.
