Apple seems to be doubling down on gaming. And why not? The company has very powerful devices. For example, iPhones can render immersive worlds better than on many rival systems. Plus, it has the best touchscreen in the market.
The company held a small, invite-only event in the US. The games showcased by Apple at the event were Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Honkai: Star Rail, Lego Starwars castaways, Run Legends and The Medium.
CNN’s Mike Andronico was there and he played Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and said the new Warzone adaptation felt familiar with simple, customisable controls that can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. For example, you can tap a single button to aim at your enemy while your gun fires automatically, or sprint down the battlefield with a quick tap rather than having to hold a button down. This is a game that’s not exclusive to iOS and is not part of Apple Arcade but the event showcased how well it works on the iPhone.
The game that many are talking about is The Medium, a game that makes users traverse both the real and spirit worlds to solve puzzles and conquer demons. “The game’s ability to render two distinct realms at once made it a great technical showpiece for next-gen consoles and souped-up PCs, and now that it’s coming to Mac, it should do the same for Apple’s latest arsenal of blazing-fast computers,” said Mike.
We are expecting more push on the gaming side as Apple Silicon gets stronger. It’s the fastest processor you can buy at the moment and the Mac may become an excellent gaming platform, besides the iPhone and iPad.
