Beats, which was acquired by Apple in 2014, has made a quiet entry into India with three products — Beats Solo Buds, Beats Solo 4 and Beats Pills.

The brand is very popular in the US. In fact, before Apple bought out Beats, it had become a luxury name and had a cult-like following. Be it LeBron James or Lil Wayne, the who’s who were rocking the headphones. And then Apple bought it for around $3 billion. Instead of absorbing the Beats brand, Apple allowed it to continue as a separate entity, which is something rare for the multi-trillion-dollar company. Today, ask any American teenager and they will swear by Beats products.

The product line available in India at the moment is selective but Beats can scale up anytime. Beats Solo Buds (6,900) promises to deliver exceptional call quality and each earbud is equipped with a custom-designed microphone powered by an advanced noise-learning algorithm. Customisable on-ear functions allow you to control your music, take calls and activate your voice assistant by pressing the ‘b’ button. You can also configure the press-and-hold action in iOS settings or the Beats app to control volume.

Beats Solo 4 (22,900) has been developed keeping comfort in mind. It weighs only 217 grams, you can almost forget you’re wearing them. UltraPlush on-ear cushions provide exceptional durability, and the flex-grip headband, customisable sliders and ergonomically-angled ear cups ensure that Solo 4 is comfortable.

The Beats Pill (16,900) comes with a completely reengineered racetrack woofer and innovative radial ribbing, the upgraded acoustic architecture delivers more powerful, room-filling sound, bigger bass and improved tonality across the audio spectrum.

The devices are available to order on Apple’s India site while availability in stores begins September 4.
