We don’t know if Samsung’s new home audio product would ever become widely available but alongside an OLED TV with an anti-glare coating, the South Korean company has showcased a product that is as eye-catching as the Frame TV.
As part of the annual electronics show CES, the Music Frame looks like a picture at a glance but it actually contains multiple speakers to produce rich and loud audio. The speaker can be placed on the wall or kept on a table to disguise as a traditional picture frame.
Inside HW-LS60D — yes, that’s the technical name — are two woofers, two tweeters and two mid-range drivers. The setup can produce Dolby Atmos audio and it leverages Samsung’s SpaceFit tech to calibrate the sound to the room.
Meant to be used as a standalone Bluetooth or Wi-Fi speaker, or it can pair with Samsung TVs and soundbars for use as a TV speaker, Music Frame allows the user to fit a photograph or printed image inside it, or “digitally print” onto the accompanying Art Panel. It also comes with an IoT hub and the speaker is voice-enabled so you can employ your go-to virtual assistant to control music and more.
