Ji huzoor. Where is huzoor? Which way is huzoor? This way or that way? And how are we to know who is huzoor? What may he look like? What shape or height or colour or whatever. You know. Looks. How does he look? Never mind, since when did looks matter?
But oh! Oh no! There’s that other thing besides looks. A more important thing. It is the thing of manners. That’s not the way we should be saying it. That’s what we meant, but that’s not the right manner of putting it across, hai ke nahin? That sounds too, you know what I mean, too much like that language. Insolent, that which begets insolence. There is not merely a way of asking a question, my dear, but also, and more importantly, a right way, and by right way I may have meant a right language. You may mull on it, that’s permitted. But get the language and the tone of it right. You may ask, you may tell Us, you may but in the right way, the prescribed way. We shall tell you about it. When you get it all wrong, we shall correct it. Wait for correction. Or be damned. You get the drift, don’t you? Behave, or… etcetera, etcetera.
There are languages and there are languages, and there are languages that are more than about alphabets and words and sentences and grammar and so on and so forth. Some languages are languages only in name because those languages are higher things.
Or rather, a wrong language. Don’t employ the wrong language, that’s all for the moment. For more restrictions, please wait, be patient, all of that and more is a work in progress.
Anyway. You know where we are. This season. You know what happens during this season. The great tamasha happens. Each year. Every year. Without fail. Life may fail us, but the Tamasha cannot be failed. Get that straight. And it has not been failed yet. It has been transported. It has been delayed. It has been bubbled and bound. It has been jigged to survive and rejigged. But it has happened.
Now there is a new one. We have a new one. Under new masters. But the show is on. Paisa bhai log, samjha karo.
