Body found

Bhubaneswar: Chandrasekharpur police recovered the semi-decomposed body of a woman from a locked house in Niladri Vihar on Sunday. The deceased identified as Reenu Swain was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom.

Cheat cases

Berhampur: Police on Sunday registered cheating cases against three finance companies — Golden Land Developers, Green Ray and Rushikulya Agro Infra Private Limited — and arrested five persons on charges of accepting deposits illegally.

Effigies burnt

Cuttack: Effigies of chief minister Naveen Patnaik and law minister Maheswar Mohanty were burnt on Sunday by activists here at Khannagar crematorium. They were protesting against the demolition of religious structures.
