Two from Bangladesh held at Teliamura

Tripura police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals at Teliamura of Khowai district late on Saturday evening, while border curfew is in force along the 856km India-Bangladesh border in the state.

The two informed the police during the preliminary investigation that they were staying in Jirania sub-division of West district for the last several months and had come to Khowai for some work.

“The duo were identified as Rubel Das, 22, and Kripa Das, 20. They are residents of the Brahmanbari district of Bangladesh. During preliminary investigation, they couldn’t submit the legal documents to us. We have arrested them and the duo were produced in court. The investigation is under way,” Debbarma told The Telegraph.
