Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday inaugurated a new logo of the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation.
The logo has been designed by Debaditya Bhowmik, a final-year computer science engineering student at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala.
It contains images of a spectacled monkey, famous historical tourist spots Unakoti, Tripura Sundari temple, the queen pineapple and the image of an indigenous woman in it.
After inaugurating the logo at the state secretariat here on Tuesday afternoon, Deb said spiritual tourism is always a major source of revenue.
“Tripura has a large number of tourist treasures. Mata Tripura Sundari temple is one of the biggest treasures. It is one among the most famous religious places of the world like Gaya, Kashi, Brindavan, Kamakhya temple, Tirupati Balaji temple and others,” Deb said.
He also said around Rs 75 crore would be spent to develop the Tripura Sundari temple.
“Our government is working to develop different sectors of the state, including agriculture, industry, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and tourism,” Deb said.
However, he said the doors should be opened for tourists because it would be a major advantage for the development of tourism in Tripura.
