Passengers undergo thermal screening at Dimapur airport on Sunday to check suspected cases of novel coronavirus.
The Nagaland government has directed government offices and schools to provide sanitisers to employees and students. In a circular, chief secretary Temjen Toy asked government offices and schools, including private institutions, to provide hand sanitisers at all biometric device stations.
On Friday, Toy held video-conferencing with deputy commissioners and Nagaland commissioner in Kohima to ensure the state was prepared to tackle Covid-19 cases. He directed the departments to ensure protective equipment like N-95 masks and thermal scanner are available to all units. Schools and colleges have been asked to display information, education and communication materials on dos and don’ts.
Toy said people lacked basic civic sense, while inspecting a new hydraulic baling press and material recovery unit at Chumukedima on Saturday. He said such units will be set up in all district headquarters.
