More than 5,000 stakeholders from the industry, government and agencies will participate in the third edition of Emerging North East, organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham), at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre here from Thursday.
The three-day conclave is supported by the ministries of food processing industries, DoNER, tourism and skill development and the Assam government.
Key stakeholders from industries, institutions, embassies, experts, investors and government officials from the Northeast are expected to participate in the mega event.
It will focus on agricultural, MSME, food processing projects, horticulture, tea, spices, medicinal plants, poultry, fisheries, piggery, dairy, coir, bamboo, rural craft products, ecology, nature tourism, commerce, energy and infrastructure, skills, jobs and entrepreneurship, security, social and rural development.
Assocham secretary-general Deepak Sood said, “With the success of the first two editions of Emerging North East, we are back with the third edition which aims at a holistic development of the region. This event has been a great knowledge-sharing platform and a place where buyers and sellers can associate directly catalysing growth in investments, business and commerce in the region.”
Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi will inaugurate the event in the presence of Union minister of state for food processing industries Rameswar Teli.
