The State Bank of India (SBI) is organising a financial inclusion outreach initiative at Khanapara field here from February 26 to 28, which will provide a variety of financial services, including Aadhar enrolment.

The event was announced by the SBI Northeast’s circle chief general manager, Sunil Kumar Tandon, at a news conference at the SBI head office here on Friday.

Tandon urged people to utilise digital payment platforms like Bhim app as they are convenient to use, eliminating the need to travel to the bank for conducting transactions and do not require signatures, a problem with people from rural areas.

Around 60 stalls are being set up at the Khanapara field, of which five stalls by SBI and five by other banks will provide Aadhar enrolment, seeding and authentication with consent of account holder.

All private, cooperative and rural banks, along with NBFCs, will participate in the event and provide a gamut of services, including agricultural and MSME loans.

SBI has enumerated the services being provided at the three-day event.

These include opening of basic savings account under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana, distribution and activation of RuPay cards, Aadhar seeding and authentication, mobile seeding with consent of account holder, enrolment for Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan mantra Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana, facilitation of agricultural credits, through SHGs, KCC, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, e-Mudra, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and other MSME loans.

Loans for beekeeping will also be provided.

The bank has drawn up an ambitious advertising campaign using posters, ads and radio jingles to spread the information about the event throughout the city, SBI assistant general manager of public relations Dijen Chandra Bora said.
