It was started by Adil Hussain, a widely-respected actor, when he went live on Facebook to make people realise the gravity of the situation. Hussain, in an 18-minute Facebook live on Wednesday, urged the people not to venture out of their homes not to save themselves but also others in the neighbourhood. “I wanted to say something to the people at this juncture. The government has strictly asked us to obey the 21-day lockdown, which is very important. The government and World Health Organisation (WHO) has asked to maintain the social distancing. We should follow it…,” Hussain said on Facebook.

National award-winning sound mixer Debajit Changmai, who is based in Mumbai, has supported the lockdown announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged the people to follow it.

“The situation is very grim. Please stay indoors and follow the instructions of doctors and experts. It’s not that difficult. You just need to follow the orders of the health department. The health department and the government have been doing their best but we also need to play our part. There is no need to panic. We have to be careful and sincere. We should buy provisions in a very limited way. We need to save food so that tomorrow we don’t end up facing a more difficult time,” said Changmai.
