He asked the deputy commissioners and the superintendents of police to take local people into their confidence and involve them as important stakeholders for success of the government schemes in the state. Sonowal said the state government, for the first time, had adopted the programme to allot land pattas (rights) to the indigenous people on a largescale basis and asked the deputy commissioners to complete the process of allotting land pattas to one lakh beneficiaries by March 31 of the current financial year. He also asked the deputy commissioners to generate awareness among people to take benefits of Arundhati Scheme which Dispur will roll out for the newly-registered married couple from January 1, 2020. Under the scheme, a married couple will be given Rs 30,000 for purchase of jewellery.

On implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Sonowal asked the DCs to expeditiously implement the scheme to provide “dignity and shelter” to the beneficiaries. He also set a target on the part of deputy commissioners for giving land on government value to the landless beneficiaries.

Sonowal asked the deputy commissioners to create awareness on Kushal Konwar Old Age Pension Scheme and widow pension scheme for bringing more beneficiaries under the schemes of direct financial inclusion. He requested the deputy commissioners to expeditiously identify lands in the tea garden areas in consultation with other stakeholders for setting up high schools.
