Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on Tuesday said he has invited Reliance Industries’ Chairman Mukesh Ambani to explore investment opportunities in the state.
“During my recent Maharashtra visit for the oath-taking ceremony (of the new government), I met Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant Ambani. I invited them to visit Tripura, and we had a long discussion. They showed keen interest and expressed their desire to come to Tripura... The discussions were very positive, and we are hopeful about their visit,” Saha said.
The chief minister said this on the sidelines of an inspection trip to various venues hosting the 72nd Plenary Session of the North East Council (NEC) on December 20-21 in the state.
Saha had said on Monday about a team from Reliance visiting the state soon to explore potential investment opportunities in tourism and bamboo, which can be used to produce ethanol which in turn can be blended with petrol, among others.
“I had a discussion with him for about 45 minutes, during which he assured me that a team would be visiting soon,” the chief minister had said on Monday.
