The North Eastern Hill University (Nehu) has signed a memorandum of understanding with IIT Guwahati to enable the university’s faculty and students to explore the possibilities of pursuing their masters and doctoral programmes full time at the institute.
Nehu vice-chancellor S.K. Srivastava, who is a member of the Board of Governors of IIT Guwahati, announced that the MoU was signed on Tuesday.
The MoU envisages the fulfilling of objectives like IIT’s academic support to Nehu, internship programme at IIT Guwahati, joint degree programmes, faculty support to Nehu and vice-versa, short-term training programmes, guidance in infrastructure development, creation of a centre of excellence and joint short- term programmes and workshops.
The pact will also facilitate co-operation for development of new areas of research and development at Nehu.
