Leopard attacks youth in Numaligarh

A 24-year-old youth was attacked by a leopard at a village near Numaligarh on Thursday.

Paplu Bhumij, son of Manoj Bhumij, a resident of No. 4 Rong Bong village of Amlakhital Dholapar, 15km from Numaligarh, was attacked by a leopard on Thursday morning and suffered serious injures in his head and hand.

Bhumij went to the paddy field to give water to the cattle.

The family faced difficulty in taking him to Golaghat civil hospital because of the lockdown.The area along the border of Golaghat and Karbi Anglong districts is affected by man-animal conflict.
