The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) organised an entrepreneurship awareness camp on its premises on Friday.
The awareness camp is a part of NERES 1.0 summit, which is touted as the biggest entrepreneurship summit of the Northeast, and will be held in March.
It is sponsored by North East Council( NEC) and co-organised by the Federation of Industry and Commerce of North East Region (Finer).
The institute’s officials said more such awareness camps are going to be organised in 15 towns of the region.
“We have opened invitation for the aspirants to pitch in with ideas till January 31. The 50 best ideas will be
selected followed by shortlisting of 20 ideas. The 20 ideas will be provided Rs 5 lakh each at the summit,” the institute’s head of centre for industrial extension(CIE) S.B. Baruah said.
“The aim of the summit is to inculcate entrepreneurial orientation in the student fraternity and talented professionals in the Northeast,” IIE director Abhijit Sharma said.
“The aspirants will be guided to pitch in ideas on agri and allied services, IT and ITES services, waste management and renewable energy, health and wellness, education, media and entertainment, tourism, textile and handicraft and social enterprises. We are hoping more than 1,500 ideas to come up for selection,” he said.
