Association general secretary Poonam Kumar Taneja said as Guwahati is the hub from where all the material is supplied to the rest of the state, the curfew has hit the movement of trucks, which are permitted to ply only after midnight, and the supply of goods to the rest of the state.

“This is creating a tense situation as stocks lying in warehouses and godowns in the city are unable to supply materials to other places in the rest of Assam” Taneja said.

At present, goods are being delivered during the daytime within the areas under Kamrup rural and metro districts only.
